What is Phishing email? If you received an email from one of the famous online companies asking you to update the account information. Checking to see if the email is from the correct website domain name(e.g. ebay.com, yahoo.com, amazon, paypal….) is not going to help you since people could fake the sender email IDs.
What should I do with a phishing email?
What you should do is to ignore the email since most of the time, authentic websites won’t send you email to update your account. If you are really worried, don’t click anything from the email and you should go to the website directly and login from the website that you typed in. Usually there will be a message center for all the message from the company for you.
What is a phishing email? Phishing email is the email that will direct you to a fake website with a “different url/ website address.”
The message below is one of the newest phishing email I got in my outlook mailbox. Move your mouse cursor on the links from that email (Don’t click them) and you should see the url destination if you click at the bottom of the web browser you are using.
