My favorite friend in Brazilian told me today that he had a piece of Damasco cake, which is very delicious…He guessed Damasco is an Arabian fruit and not easy to find.
Later I found out some facts about this fruit:
- This fruit of ancient lineage has been grown in China for over 4,000 years.
- in Argentina and Chile the word for “apricot” is “damasco” which probably indicates that to the Argentines the fruit was associated with Damascus.
